In 2026, the United States will mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It will be a moment of national reflection, celebration and renewed appreciation for the ideals that helped shape this country and, in time, the enduring friendship between the United States and the United Kingdom.
It is therefore especially fitting that the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, will return to the United States this summer as part of the RAF’s 2026 programme.

The Royal Air Force has announced that the Red Arrows will conduct a series of displays and flypasts across the United States in June and July as part of Operation Eagle Hawk, a month-long tour commemorating America’s 250th anniversary while highlighting the historic and continuing partnership between the United Kingdom and the United States.
The announced U.S. schedule includes:
- June 27–28
Sail 250 Maryland & Airshow Baltimore
Baltimore, Maryland - July 4
International Aerial Review
New York City
Flypast only - July 5–6
FourLeaf Air Show
Jones Beach, New York - July 11–12
Great State of Maine Air Show
Brunswick, Maine - July 17–19
Thunder Over Michigan Air Show
Ypsilanti, Michigan - July 24–26
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh
Oshkosh, Wisconsin
The RAF has also noted that additional dates may be added as planning continues.

For those of us who had the privilege of helping host and support the Red Arrows during their last United States tour in 2019, this announcement is especially meaningful. Their visit was not simply an aviation event. It was a powerful reminder of the shared values, military cooperation, cultural ties and personal friendships that connect our two nations.
The Red Arrows represent the very best of British precision, professionalism and teamwork. Wherever they perform, they inspire young people, honor aviation heritage and demonstrate the extraordinary skill of the men and women of the Royal Air Force. Their signature red, white and blue display is more than a spectacle in the sky; it is a symbol of excellence, service and international friendship.

Their return in 2026 comes at a particularly important moment. The United States and the United Kingdom remain the closest of allies. Our armed forces serve together, train together and stand together across the world. From NATO operations to joint exercises, from advanced aerospace cooperation to shared security commitments, the UK-US relationship continues to be one of the most consequential partnerships in modern history.
But this relationship is not only written in treaties, strategy documents or military planning. It is also built through moments of public diplomacy: a handshake on an airfield, a conversation with a young student at a STEM event, a shared sense of pride as aircraft trace red, white and blue across the sky.
That is what makes the Red Arrows so special. They connect people.

As British Honorary Consul to Missouri and as someone who has helped lead the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show since 2012, I am thrilled to welcome the team back to the United States in 2026 and to support their upcoming visit (even though they won’t be flying in Missouri). Their return will help celebrate America’s 250th birthday while also reminding us that the story of British-American relations did not end in 1776. In many ways, it was only beginning.

Two hundred and fifty years later, our nations are friends, allies and partners — in defense, trade, innovation, aviation, education and culture. The Red Arrows’ 2026 tour will offer millions of Americans the opportunity to see that partnership brought to life with extraordinary grace, speed and precision.
To the pilots, engineers, support crew and all my friends involved in Operation Eagle Hawk: welcome back. We were honored to host you in 2019, and we are delighted to see you return for this historic year.
The skies over America will be brighter because of it.
