While not quite as far as Scotland, Ireland is still across the Pond from the US. And when the new US Ambassador to Ireland, Kevin O’Malley, spoke this week at the Dublin Tech Summit and talked about the tech scene and vibrant startup ecosystem in St. Louis, I paid attention.
As reported by the Independent, the Ambassador said there was massive “opportunities in places otherwise going under people’s radars” and encouraged startups to go off the beaten track in looking at business development opportunities in the US.”
He also said, St Louis was home to nine of the world’s top 500 businesses and had a huge amount to offer start ups including low rent costs, a strong tradition of successful businesses and a booming cultural scene.
Way to go Ambassador. We’ve already got Scottish companies setting up shop in St. Louis. Now it’s time to bring on the Irish.
